Ministry Coaches


A Ministry Coach is certified to take Women Ministries leaders through the Coordinators Summit. This five-hour comprehensive leadership training seminar:

  • Begins with "You as a Leader" - identifying three essential characteristics of effective leaders
  • Helps leaders articulate their vision and mission statements
  • Trains leaders in the ABCs of ministry design
  •     Assess - identifying and understanding the women in your church

  •     Build - designing ministry for them

  •     Confirm - evaluating ministries' effectiveness

The summit gives practical help to design spiritually transforming  ministries for women.

Ministry Coaches are ready to come along side Women Ministries leaders and assist them in any way they need. In addition to providing the Coordinators Summit training, they are trained to help leaders realize their ministry goals. They are available for encouragement and problem solving. Ministry  Coaches are passionate about Women Ministries and serve as volunteers in their region. Local churches are encouraged to express their appreciation for the coaching with an appropriate honorarium and travel expenses. Coordinating training with other churches is encouraged.

MINISTRY COACH DIRECTOR

Karen Hearl was appointed denominational Ministry Coach Director by the Board of Women Ministries in February 2008. Herself a trained Ministry Coach, Karen brings years of service to Women Ministries. She provides leadership to the Ministry Coach initiative begun in 2006, resourcing the current 38 trained Coaches and training new Ministry Coaches. 

 

THE VISION of the Ministry Coach Initiative:
The Women Ministries Connection – equipping women to train local women ministry leaders to design ministries integrated into the church’s vision and coach them to realize their goals.

MISSION Statement of the Ministry Coach initiative:
Women Ministries' Ministry Coach initiative exists to equip women to coach local women ministry leaders who are:
•    excited about loving and serving Jesus;
•    fulfilling their calling and giftedness; and
•    working in harmony with their church's vision.

Conference Women Ministries Leadership Teams sponsor potential coaches to be trained as Ministry Coaches. Women interested in becoming a coach are encouraged to contact their Women Ministries Conference President. The denominational office does not select coaches but will refer those interested to their conference WM leaders.

The Ministry Coaches will serve in their regions as volunteers and would be welcomed to a church as a guest speaker, with travel expenses reimbursed. Local churches are encouraged to express appreciation for the coaching with an appropriate honorarium.

Qualification for Coaches:
1.    Understanding of Women Ministries' vision of being a tool of the church, integrated into its ministries.
2.    Heart for Women Ministries.
3.    Available for a three year commitment.
4.    Flexible schedule permitting travel to area churches.
5.    Affirmed by pastor and conference leadership team as a leader.
6.    Experience in public speaking.
7.    Motivational in style.
8.    Encourager.
9.    Committed to a local church.
10.  Spiritual gifts of teaching, encouraging, shepherding or preaching.
11.  Sense of being called and gifted to the position.

Job Description for a Women's Ministry Coach:
1.    Work under and report to the Conference Women Ministries  leadership team.
2.    Train local leaders to design women ministries in harmony with the church's vision, using the Coordinators Summit materials. Ideally, this training would be done for a cluster of churches rather than individual churches.
3.    Follow up on the training, assisting and encouraging local leaders with any challenges they are facing.
4.    Establish a communication network between leaders.
5.    Communicate denominational and conference information (new opportunities, initiatives, etc.).
6.    Endeavor to unite local leaders of cluster churches periodically for mutual sharing and encouragement.
7.    Encourage financial partnership in the broader conference and denominational vision.
