SAN RAFAEL, CA (January 6, 2011) – Sometimes adults can take their faith way too seriously, says Jeff Mazzariello, the spiritual formation pastor at Marin Covenant Church and scheduled speaker at the Feast this summer.
Mazzariello, who previously served three years as executive director of Covenant Bible College in Windsor, Colorado, says maturing in faith and personal responsibility certainly are important, “but we also are in danger of losing what it is to be childlike.” Too much emphasis on “acting your age” does not take into account Jesus’s admonitions to have the faith of a child.
Mazzariello hopes attendees at the Feast who have become “too mature” will rediscover that childlike faith. His talk is titled “The Spirituality of Becoming a Little Less Adultlike.”
His presentation is in keeping with the theme for this year’s gathering, “PLAY…for the kid in all of us!”
Mazzariello is looking forward to getting in some playtime with his family at the Feast. “Estes Park is one of my favorite places in the whole earth,” he says, adding, “God has met me a number of times there.”
