Memorial Service Planned for Dorothy Lake

RICHMOND, VA (March 24, 2011) – A memorial service for Dorothy (Mulholland) Lake, 78, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on April 9 at Lakeside United Methodist Church here.

Lake died Tuesday, two days after celebrating her 57th wedding anniversary with Evangelical Covenant Church minister D. Bruce Lake.

She attended Swedish Covenant Hospital nurses training and later earned an R.N. from Saginaw General Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. She also studied marriage and family counseling at the Center for Study of Human Systems in Bethesda, Maryland.

The Lakes were married March 20, 1954. He served as pastor at Covenant churches in Springfield, Virginia; Cadillac, Michigan; and Plainfield, New Jersey. He has been serving as visitation pastor at the Lakeside congregation.

In addition to her husband, Lake is survived by three daughters: Linda Camp, Patricia DeBord, and Sarah Warner.
