Important Announcement

Some changes to the Rules for the Ordered Ministry are scheduled to be voted on at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the Covenant Ministerium (June 24, 2008) and the Annual Meeting of the ECC (June 26, 2008).  The proposed changes come as a result of having "lived into" the current Rules for six years.  The changes were based on feedback from ministers, department staff, conference committees on ministerial standing, and suggestions from a credentialing task force appointed by the Board of the Ordered Ministry.  Please download the following documents for more information.

The Department of the Ordered Ministry recruits, supports, credentials, and cares for Covenant Ministers.

Our departmental mission is to serve the Gospel mission of the whole church by endorsing, advocating, supporting, and caring for all persons called to serve in vocational ministry on behalf of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

We envision a faithful community of vocational ministers that:

• exhibits healthy self and collegial care – Sabbath-based rhythms of prayer, study, work, play, and rest
